Purpose

This document is designed to provide a step-by-step guide for installing Lync 2010 in a Mac environment.

This document is written to support the Lync on a Mac environment;

• Mac Lync

Note: For any other versions of Lync or any other operating system, please consult your manual, built in help system, place of purchase or use online searches for configuration instructions.

Installing Lync on a Mac system

To Install and configure Lync on your Mac:

1. Download the installer from the server and save it to the desktop of your Mac (please check with the Windows System Administrator for the location).

2. Double click installer file.

3. Select the Lync Installer icon.

4. In the Introduction section, select Continue.

5. In the license section, select Continue.

6. Select Agree.

7. In the Destination Select section, select Continue.

8. In the Installation Type section, select Install.

Note: If the system asks for an administrator user name and password, enter the administrator’s Name and Password then select OK.

9. In the Installation section, wait for the system to write and install Lync.

10. In the Summary section, select Close.

11. Close the installer.

12. Launch Lync 2010.

13. Read and agree to the License Agreement by selecting Accept.

14. Check the Do not show this message again and select Use Lync.

Note: This screen will appear 3 times.

15. Check the Do not show this message again and select Use Lync

16. Check the Do not show this message again and select Use Lync.

17. At the Login window select Advanced.

18. In the Advanced window select Manual configuration and enter the following:

• Internal Server Name: sipdir.online.lync.com:443

• External Server Name: sipdir.online.lync.com:443

19. Select OK.

20. In the Login window, enter the following details:

• Email Address: UNI-ID@uds.anu.edu.au (eg u1234567@uds.anu.edu.au)

• Sign in as: Automatic

• User ID: UNI-ID@uds.anu.edu.au (eg u1234567@uds.anu.edu.au)

• Password: your ANU password

21. Select Sign In.

22. Lync installation is complete.
