Steps 1 – Backup ID File and Contacts (names.nsf)

For Fresh Install

Copy ID Files and names.nsf from the other PC which installed Lotus Notes

For Upgrade

Backup ID Files and names.nsf

Steps 2 – Get the installation packages

Steps2a - Download two packages

1) NoMadLN.zip

2) Framework.zip

Steps2b - (For Upgrade Only) Uninstall Previous Version of Lotus Notes

Steps 3 - Software Installation

Unzip two installation packages

Folder (1) – “NoMadLN85” to C:\

Folder (2) – “framework” to C: \NoMadLN85\program files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\

Steps 4 – Insert ID File

Copy your ID File from old PC

If no,Please Contact to IT Department to obtain your ID File

Steps 5 – Restore your Contacts (Optional)

Copy all address from the old Contacts File

Backup / Copy [xxx].id and names.nsf to the location which you know

For example location: [C:\backup]

For Fresh Install

Copy ID Files and names.nsf from the other PC which installed Lotus Notes

For Upgrade

Backup ID Files and names.nsf

Remarks:

[xxx].id and names.nsf may store on:

[C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data] Or

[C:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes\Data] Or

[C:\NOmadLN7\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data] Or

[C:\NoMadLN85\program files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data]

[xxx] is Person Name or Units Name. for example: PingTinKindy.id , KamTinCorps.id

Steps 2 – Get the installation packages

Steps2a - Download two packages

Download two packages on download links which provided by ITD in email

(Two Packages total around 400MB and need to download around 1 to 2 hours depends on the Internet

bandwidth)

Steps2b - (For Upgrade Only) Uninstall Previous Version of Lotus Notes

For Windows XP:

Start > Setting > Control Panel > Add and Remove Program

Select Lotus Notes 7/ 8.5 or Lotus Notes on USB ,then click remove

Or

For Windows 7/Vista:

Start > Control Panel > Remove Program

Select Lotus Notes 7 / 8.5. or Lotus Notes on USB ,then click uninstall

Steps3: Software Installation

Unzip two installation packages

Package (1) NoMadLN.zip

“NoMadLN85” to “C:\”

(Correct Path= C:\NoMadLN85)

then

Package (2) framework.zip

“framework” to “C: \NoMadLN85\program files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\”

(Correct Path=C: \NoMadLN85\program files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\framework)

Unzip two installation packages

Run Lotus Notes

*Make sure your current Windows Account own Administrator Rights *

Execute autorun.exe on “C:\NoMadLN85” folder

Desktop will appear Lotus Notes ICON

Lotus Notes Installed successful.

Steps 4: Insert ID File

Copy your ID File which you have backup on [C:\backup] in Steps1 to Lotus Notes Folder

If you are sure and cannot find the ID File, Please Contact to IT Department to obtain your ID File

Lotus Notes Folder:

[C:\NoMadLN85\program files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data]

After Copied ID Files, Let’s try to login Lotus Notes

In the “User name” and “At location” field, select the corresponding one to run Lotus Notes.

The password is same with previous using

You can start to use Lotus Notes 8.5.1

Steps 5 – Restore your Contacts (Optional)

After successful login Lotus Notes

You may need to restore your contacts

Open names.nsf which you have backup on [C:\backup] in Steps1

Double-Click and open names.nsf

Or

You can select [File>Open>Lotus Notes Application]

Select [Browse] and visit [C:\backup] to open names.nsf

It is your Old address book .You can see The Details of the Contact

Select [Edit>Select All] then Select [Edit>Copy]

Then Click Address Book Icon of the left Toolbar .

It is your New Address Book. It should be Blank and no any contacts in here.

Select [Edit>Paste]

The all old Contacts have been Copy to New Address Book
