Literatures (A)Cross-Cultures Conference“Literatures (A)cross Cultures” is an international conference highlighting the last 30 years of Hispanic American literature. Scholars are invited into a critical and exciting conversation on the road that contemporary Hispanic American literature has taken. Cross-cultural representations come through queer theory, feminist criticism, post-national/post-colonial thought, religious perspectives and other topics.

Jorge Franco is a Colombian writer whose awards include: Premio Alfaguara de Novela, Dashiell Hammet of the Semana Negra de Gijón and Premio Pedro Gómez Valderrama. Gabriel García Marquez has said of Franco, “[he is] one of the
Colombian writers to whom I wish to pass the torch.”
Raymond L. Williams is distinguished professor of Spanish at the University of California at Riverside. He has published 15 books on the Colombian novel, postmodern fiction in Latin America, the writing of the Latin American
Boom and writers associated with the McOndo and Crack Generation.
