This book takes place in Nazi Germany during
World War two in a town called Molching.
This book is third and first person. Death is the
narrator. At some parts, Death is narrating Liesel’s
or Max’s stories. But at other parts, death is telling
his own story.
The theme of this book is to always know what you
have before you lose it.
Liesel Meminger has lived a life of poverty and
death under Hitler’s rule. Her mom and dad left, her
brother died, and now she has to live with her new
foster parents. She thinks that this is going to be
horrible. Then she meets Papa, Mama, Rudy, and
Max. Everything turns around. Read this book to
find out about Liesel’s many adventures.
This is an amazing book. I loved it because it is full
of adventures and different historic events.
