Week 6House Music is always a special moment in the calendar and this year’s
version did not disappoint. All of the children were involved and everyone worked incredibly hard to prepare their House songs. The soloists were
brilliant (it takes a great deal of nerve to stand up in front of a packed Henderson Hall) and we all enjoyed the House compositions, a new
feature of the competition taking full advantage of the music technology in
the performing arts centre. My thanks to Robert Martin and Lucy Sewell for working so hard to pull the whole thing together and to Jonathan
Brown, Director of Music at Malvern College, for agreeing to judge the competition.
I hope that everyone manages to enjoy some restful time with their
families next week and look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday.

Cheltenham College Maths Challenge
On Tuesday, some Year 5 and 6 students
took part in the Maths Challenge at Cheltenham College. It was a fantastic
event and the students worked
extremely well solving some tricky problems that they hadn’t seen before.
Year 6 managed to complete the logic round before any other team.
Sunday family service – Sunday 3rd March 5:30 followed by a delicious
roast supper. All welcome.

Tick TockLove has been in the air this week at Tick Tock with some fabulous valentines crafts
going on. The children have used handprints to put a personal touch to their creations.
We have also had fun this week making
music with Becky. The sense of rhythm is getting good and the children were banging
their instruments in time with the song.
Digging in the garden and parachute play
have both been firm favourites this week.
The children loved hiding under the parachute!
At our sports stars sessions we have been doing lots of balancing and some of the
children are beginning to balance along the
beams unaided.
Harry Potter 2The Tree House is an excellent way to start
boarding life. The year 3 & 4 boarders this week had such an amazing experience with
Moor Park transforming into Hogwarts once again. All stops were pulled out,
children and staff were dressed up and the
Owlery was open for business! Olivanders did a roaring trade, Dumbledore taught
potions, the sorting hat was dusted off, houses were selected, a quiz tested the
students’ knowledge and of course the all
important Quidditch on broomsticks was enjoyed! A huge thank you to the staff and
our amazing Year 8 who helped out on the night.

Come along for some Plucking Good Fun…..
4:30pm on a Wednesday in the Performing Arts Centre. There are
plenty of spare ukuleles and you will even get a shiny songbook to take home with you. What more could one want?
Moor Park War StoriesMany of you will have already seen the
amazing book of Moor Park war stories
compiled by Mr. Crew. For those who haven't, it is a fascinating collection, not
least because every man & woman written about is an ancestor of someone
from Moor Park. Mr. Crew wanted to
commemorate these ancestors as part of the 2018 centenary of the end of World
War I, & he has more than done this with his book; every story leaps from the
page.
Every copy printed was sold, raising £800,
which Mr. Crew donated to the Royal British Legion, the York Army Museum, &
the Shropshire Regimental Museum. He
is considering printing further copies, but will need to know orders in advance, as
there is a minimum quantity for a print run. If anyone would like to buy a copy,
would you email me
at sjredshaw@hotmail.com (before half term), telling me how many copies you'd
like? We can then see whether another print run would be viable. The price will
vary depending on how many people we
get, but will be something between £12 & £20 - I'll be sure to let you know before
you confirm your order.
