Engineering (UK) - HL Mathematics

Economics (UK) - HL Mathematics

Business (UK) - HL or SL Mathematics

Medical Science - HL 2 Sciences, Math

Similar for Top Universities in the USA, though most are flexible.

➢ If you’re unsure of which country yet, choose a variety to keep your options open, but based on your interest and skill-set.

➢ IB helps with this because of the 6 requirements

➢ There is always a pathway forward

• 6 courses with 7 points for each subject

• 3 Higher Level (240 hours each)

• and 3 Standard Level (150 hours each)

• ToK + EE = 3 points (100 + 40 hours)

• CAS (no points but compulsory)

• Total 45 points available• Minimum 24 points for Diploma

Theory of Knowledge• How do we know what we know?• A link to all Subject areas • Paper and Presentation

Extended Essay• An 4000 word independent / in-depth study on an academic

topic that engages students.• Begins December of Year 1, completed by Sept. of Year 2

Creativity, Activity, and Service• Approximately 100-150 hours across 3 areas • 15 Reflections completed Year 1, 15 more by March of Year 2

• widely recognized by over 2500 of the world’s leading universities and colleges

• IB provides university admissions officers with direct, online access to syllabuses and recent examinations

• UK universities make conditional offers based on number points; Europe likely needs a pass

• Gives students a competitive edge at leading US and world colleges
