Refresher - Work at Height
Work in any place where a person could fall a
distance liable to cause personal injury:
▪ Working above ground/floor level;
▪ Could fall from an edge though an opening or
fragile roof;
▪ Could fall from ground level into an opening in the
floor or a hole in the ground.

▪ 'Work at height' means work in any place,
including a place at or below ground level,
along with access there to and egress there
from (except by a staircase in a permanent
workplace) where, if the measures required
by these Regulations were not taken, a
person could fall a distance liable to cause
personal injury.

Section 11: Health and Safety Part 1.03:
Working at Heights
▪ PASMA has developed two methods of installing
guardrails that do not require the erector to stand
on a working platform until the guardrail frames
have been installed:
– (a) advanced guardrail system;
– (b) through-the-trap (3T method;
▪ These methods should be adopted by Contractors
as best industry practice in Qatar.
