Lachlan McIntosh?

A Major General of the Revolutionary War...

...under command of George Washington.

Accomplishments

McIntosh played a key part in helping create the Georgia Brigade...

...which helped in the defeat of the British.

Lachlan helped George Washington, and his troops, defeat the British in the

Revolutionary War...

...and now we have independance.

duel with Button Gwinnett

McIntosh and Gwinnett both were running for govenor...

...and, McIntosh, reveling in Gwinnett's embarrassment, openly criticized him for a  failed

military campaign... 

...though Gwinnett was cleared of wrong doing...

  

...Gwinnett challenged Mcintosh to a duel with

pistols...

...both men were hurt.

...McIntosh survived...

... Gwinnett died three days later resulting from having a bone in his leg broken...

...by the bullet McIntosh shot.

in 1727 Lachlan was born in Badencoh, Scotland...

 

...McIntosh's family was a part of the group "Scot

Highlanders"...

Who settled in Darien along Georgia's southern

frontier in 1736.

family crossed the Atlantic in 1735...
