“Architecture should have little to do with problem solving - rather it should create desirable conditions and opportunities hitherto thought impossible.”

POWER OF EMPIRE_RESIDENTIAL
A sophisticated, high-ended, empire themed space is constructed in this project. To covey this thematic, personality collage of the client is made for explorations and understanding clients’ character. Above that, spatial collage is created to express the overall look and feel of the space. With the studying of background, surrealistic and symbolic elements are added into the scheme to enhance the whole spatial experiences.
Site Address/ 18 Yarra Street, South Yarra, VIC 3141, Melbourne, AustraliaDate/ Year 2, Semester 2
Spatial Collage
Surrealistic, Symbolic, Conquering, Exclusive, Luxury, Sophisticated, Cold.Given by the clients with a collection of empire style furnitures, the spatial atmosphere should convey the idea of conquering and having everything in control.
Personality Collage
Arrogant yet Good-looking, Self-protected and Self-centered, with a pair of Unforgiving eyes, hiding her sentimental and fragile heart with Cold and Tough appearance.
Impossible rules the world.
Napoleon Bonaparte
A famous quote from Napoleon Bonaparte perfectly described the atmosphere in the space experienced by the occupants and the visitors. Guests are brought into such condensed (bold use of colours) and unpredictable space with the unclear spatial arrangement of space intentionally.

FACING THE EMPIREKnowing that the clients are obsessed with the glam and pioneer feeling from the 'empire style'. One way mirror is used surround the bedroom in the heart of the space. Client can facing their 'empire' anytime (even bedtime) to have their intimate moments with their 'POWER', without people noticing.
EMBRACING THE EMPIRE
Guests are brought by my client through the space. Walking through a long corridor with one way glass applied on both side, people is trapped in a '3 way' corridor with such disturbing feelings of the unknown ahead. with the trick of the use of lighting and characteristic of the mirror, by dimming the light along the pathway, their antique collections placed behind the mirror is being revealed, occupants can embrace the empire throughout the journey to 'The Empire' (Office/Meeting Area).
PEA - COCKTAIL TABLE
Furniture designed for Project
Being shocked by the luxurious of the reception and the endless corridor, the guests are flattened by the chic and contemporary style of the lounge area. The chromic peacock cocktail table could definitely contrast yet compromise with the empire style.
Peacock: is designed with symbolic meaning.Based on the characteristic of the client. (Refer to Personality Collage)

DARK PATH Every people who have been chosen have to walk through this path in order to get to the main concourse. If the The path of darkness encourages them to be brave and have courage to face the uncertainty, to get ready for the unknown challenges in Tasmania.
As the other senses will get stronger when one is shut, the darkness allowed them to strengthed their sense of touch.
TREE OF LIFE
Some people might find it hard to confess to others when facing each other directly. This installation can help them to express themselves freely by seperating them in layers of metal mesh in different densities. The more layers they have, the more seperate they could be they can still feeling close to each other with the silhouette shown through the plates.
Hidden Meaning:Tree of life is a motif and mystical concept alluding to the interconnectedness of all life on our planet; and a metaphor for common descent in the evolutionary sense.

SITE ANALYSIS
DIAGRAMMATIC ANALYSISin response to the CITY
Dodge is an urban intervention to encourage occupants to start of a day with a little stretches and cleaning up their mind by distracting them from mobile devices. Passive exercise is brought out by moving around space with little groove from dodging people. Such intervention is carried out by applying slightly lumpy flooring, a wireframe casting of ceiling with occupancy detections and people engagement in behaviour sense. FLINDERS STREET STATION

PANOPTICON_NEW MEDIA THEATER
My approach to the new media theatre is to create a technologically controlled and monitored space with flexible program and circulations. I am interested in surveillance space, which is the idea of the city becoming a panopticon- the idea that we are in a prison and we can be observed at all times from all perspectives by exces-sive surveillance camera.

SECURITY NOTICE
PROPOSED FLOOR PLAN
Realising the surveillance issue being brought up by the society, we are starting to questioning ourselves, who owns the footage of the surveillance camera? What are they going to do with this other than 'protecting us'? Are we really 'protected' by filming our behaviours? It's getting cheesy that the whole idea is more like protecting the prem-ises than the occupants (us).

The concept is addressed by installing surveillance camera within the space, audiences are captured and projected onto the handrails in real time as pixelized graphics. The pathway extruded to the outside is the only way to avoid the cameras. moreover, Inspired by the fun palace by cedric price with his cybernetic design, mechanical systems are installed throughout the space, the platforms and stairs are flexible, which could be self regulated and adapt its form to programmatic change, and alter its physical configuration.
MODULAR STAIR
MODULAR PLATFORM
Platforms and staircases are fixed by the columns extruded from the ground of basement level. Users can have total control of the space by forming the circulations and arrangment of the overalllayout in their own configurations with the aid of the computer program.
