Kookaburra Chronicles
Edu-Dance
After a term of dance lessons students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 were pumped to put on a colourful, energetic, vibrant and very entertaining concert for our school community to enjoy. Going on the cheers and enthusiasm from the audience it was well received by all.
We thank our hard working P&C for their generosity, who again this year have subsidised the cost of this Term 3 activity for all.
Thanks also to the two Edu-Dance teachers Laura and Julie for doing such a great job preparing the students.

Dear Parents and Caregivers
Term 3 2018
This term has flown by and as I reflect on the term that was, it’s
difficult to comprehend that it’s come to an end already. During
yesterday’s community forum I;
Articulated our personnel and structural plans for 2019
Presented what little we know about 2018 NAPLAN as the individual reports have been received
from ACARA without the accompanying analysis from SCSA.
Articulated our fiscal plans for 2019
Responded to our survey results and;
Answer questions on notice.
I really believe in the importance of these sessions along with my reporting to the school board, whereby I
can account for every single cent expended throughout the year. While the safety, health and wellbeing of
our students is my number 1 concern, being able to account for the efficient use of over $4 000 000 of
public money is also important. These forums allow me the opportunity to be as transparent and open
about the school’s operations as possible.
I thank everyone for their attendance.
Edudance
Last week’s concert was absolutely brilliant. The children performed well beyond expectations and the
worth of the program was on display for all to see. I thank all of the parents/carers and community
members who showed up to support our students in this endeavour. I’m looking forward to the 2019
performance and they’re getting better year after year.
Athletics
Last week’s athletics carnivals went especially well. We trained hard, competed with distinction and
outstanding effort, demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and behaved in an exemplary manner
throughout the 2 days of competition. While we came second, I couldn’t ask for anything more from our
students. Thank you Mrs Wiener on all of your organisation, all teachers who were involved in the training
and above all, our students who tried their hardest all day, never gave up and were gracious in defeat and
humble in victory.
Holidays
I wish you all a great break and hope that you can manage to spend a whole lot of time with your children
throughout the two-week period. I look forward to seeing you all back, fresh and relaxed for what promises
to be an awesome Term 4 of the 2018 academic year.
