When we remember the poor, we give like Christ and become like

Christ.

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

James 1:27

James 1:27

When we neglect the needy of the world, including the orphans and

widows, we prove that the values of the world –

consumerism and accumulation – have polluted our hearts.

“Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom…”

James 2:5
