REACHING IN, REACHING OUT, REACHING GOD
Fr. Jim’s Jottings Friends, this weekend we celebrate another great feast
of our faith…Trinity Sunday. This feast acknowledges
our belief in “one God in Three Persons…Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit.” One of the first prayers we learned as a
child was the Sign of the Cross. Ever since then we have made it
thousands of times. Today would be a great day to make the Sign of
the Cross slowly, devoutly, prayerfully, and with meaning!
Besides acknowledging our feast, I want to explain how we are
going to begin public Masses and a few other things.
---Next weekend we will have two public Masses (Sat @ 4:00pm
and Sun @ 10:00am). I want to remind you that the obligation to
celebrate Mass has been lifted for the time being. If you are not well
and are elderly, it’s suggested that you refrain from coming to these
Masses.
We need to observe the guidelines we’ve been given. We can have
25% of our church capacity attend a Mass. That amounts to about
125 people. Church doors will be open a half hour before the Sat
and Sun Masses. Everyone needs to have their temp taken, wear a
facemask, sanitize hands, and keep social distance. We are hoping
we can accommodate whoever comes to our Masses. If we’ve
reached capacity, we will have to ask you to return home. Please
don’t be offended. Pews and seats will be marked. Families can sit
together but individuals will have to sit apart. It could be helpful if
you could call the parish office (734-7195) and let us know what
Mass you plan on attending. Our ushers will do their best to seat
people and we hope everyone will help make it all work.
--- We will record Mass on Sat @ 4:00pm and place it on our
website on Sunday at 9:00am for those who cannot be in church.
Additionally, we will offer Holy Communion at 11:00am for those
who would like to receive our Lord. Will this work? I hope
so. Obviously, we can make changes the following weekend. If we
need to add another Mass or two, we can do that. Let’s try to make
the best of this as we keep striving to get back to “normal”.
--- Then the week of June 14 we will resume our weekday
Masses. (Mon 12:05, Tue 12:05, and Fri 12:05. St Mary’s will have
Mass on Wed 12:05 & Thur 12:05). People will have their
temperature taken, wear facemasks, sanitize their hands, and
observe social distancing. I think we will have adequate space for
those who come to weekday Masses.
--- Our parish offices will remain closed through June. However,
our staff is present. To reach them, you just need to call or email
them.
--- And, friends, one more thing. For quite a while we have been
considering having our church pews refinished. This could be a
perfect time to do this since we can only have limited seating for the
near future. Our Building & Grounds committee is looking at two
bids and will let us know if, when, and how we can get this
done. Thank you.
Help us Recognize Dad! We still need pictures for our Father’s Day display. Please drop a photo of you and your dad in the drop box or email it to: coordinator@saintjosephparish.org by Tuesday, June 16. Your photos will help us create a tribute to dad for our Father’s Day bulletin.
Bishop’s Annual Appeal Thank you to those who have responded to this year’s Bishop’s Annual Appeal. So far 426 parishioners have committed $74,791 towards our parish goal of $77,175. We are slowly but surely crawling to our goal. If you’ve not given to the campaign yet, we can use your gift to get to the target. Thanks.
Fall Festival Committee Meeting We need to look at the status of our Fall Festival as a result of the coronavirus. Can we have it like we have in the past? Do we have to
look at other options? If you were on last year’s committee, could you come to a planning meeting this Wednesday, June 10, in Holly Hall? We will social distance, but please wear a facemask. Thank you!
Can the Parish Help? These are very difficult days for some families in trying to make ends meet. Some have lost their job or have had their hours cut back. If St Joe’s can help in some way, please call the parish office and let us talk with you.

Church Chuckle It's graduation day, and everybody's going to get their diploma but Josh. At the
assembly, the entire senior class stands up and shouts "Let Josh graduate, let Josh graduate!"
The principal agrees to give Josh one last chance. "If I have five apples in my right hand and five in my left hand, Josh, how many apples do I have?" he asked.
Josh thought long and hard and then said: "Ten."
And the entire senior class stood up and shouted, "Give Josh another chance. Give Josh another chance!"

Live The Liturgy- Inspiration for the Week Today we celebrate the Divine dance, a perfectly choreo-graphed interplay of
the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Together
they dance and move as one though three unique Persons with distinctive, yet harmonious, patterns and steps. They provide a mirror into our soul. Within each one of us, the Divine dance continues, and the music of God’s love continues to inspire, sustain, and recreate us with every step and melody. Can you hear the music that the Triune God is playing? Where is the dance leading you? Our minds can never tru-ly understand or know God. But our hearts can seek and find Him. From beginning to end, God is one and, at the same time, Creator, Redeem-er, and Sanctifier. God’s holy Trinitarian dance is calling you to holiness. Join in and dance! ©LPi
