Our Mission Statement

Start locally to make a difference globally. We will try to change our and others’ daily way of living to help lessen the impact of our actions on the environment.

The Eco Council

Why?

What we have achieved

• Silver status from the Eco schools.

• £3K Grant.

• School councils UK are featuring us.

• A wildlife area.

• Part-recycled paper.– We are looking to moving to fully recycled.

• Reduced Electricity, Water Consumption.

General Recycling Around The School

Bottle Recycling

How many bottles have we recycled?

Paper

• We in school are currently using E-P4 recycled paper.

• This Paper is 80% recycled Paper.

• We hope to change to 100% recycled paper.

Wild life Area!!!• The people who have worked on the Area have had a big success. Patrick Nickoholoson and

Callum Smith have been inviting a Wycombe ranger to the school called Chris Ryde. He has helped us make the Area a better place by helping us cut down some of the weeds to have more areas for the animals to live in and also to get all the rubbish out. He also has helped us put up some bushes and put up the bird boxes.

• We hope to continue our work on the wildlife area and encourage more wildlife to come to our school

• Carbon detectives helps us to keep a record of our carbon footprint and lets us set realistic targets.

We look at:

• The energy and water that we use. • The amount of food that is used. • The waste that we create. • The amount of recycling we do. • The purchases that our schools make • (e.g. chairs, desks, stationery ) • The amount of travelling that our school does and how we do it as well as

how we get to and from school. • The area of our school and its ground.

This is a website we can use to change our carbon footprint. Our mission is to reduce our schools carbon footprint. We can do this by using the website carbon detectives kit, and enter details about our school, to

produce a carbon kg to pupil ratio.

Fair-trade Stall

Imagine if you could buy some high grade, fair-trade chocolate and snacks in school, as well as recycled stationary whilst helping the environment!

We here at the Eco-Council are planning to set up a stall, once a month, that will sell all of that, meaning that you can buy chocolate or a new pencil knowing that it hasn’t come from environmentally unsound companies or slave labour.

The Council

The council consists of members from all age groups throughout the school.

And could be you!!

What we our currently trying to achieve.

• Green Flag award from Eco schools.
