Provided dental care to the indigenous population of Nicaragua and Panama under hazardous conditions.
Served as interpreter between non-Spanish speaking multinational, local providers and patients from host countries.
Extracted over 600 non-restorable teeth and placed over 50 restorations Veterinarian Services
Worked with host nation vets to provide de-worming and basic vaccinations for thousands of animals (dogs, cats, horses, cows, monkeys)
Optometry Provided ~1500 patient examinations, helping to dispense over ~1100 pairs of
glasses

hospitals, schools, slaughterhouses, factories (soda, bread), restaurants, water plant, residential water supplies, solid waste sites, etc
Presented findings in a roundtable with regional environmental health professionals in Berbice, Guyana
Participated in overnight stays in urban and rural locations
Provided mental health care both on and off ship Worked on a shipboard influenza outbreak
investigation with USN colleagues Change in mission with diversion to Haiti!
