Current senior at Judson University, I am a dedicated individual that focuses on doing the highest quality work possible while managing my time proficiently. During high school, I took four years of art which led me to become a talented artist. I then found my skills in marker rendering, which set me apart from my colleagues. My expertise in Revit has led me to create exceptional work in studio. Aside from ar-chitecture, I currently also serve in the Army Reserve and I manage a Taco Bell store on the weekends as a part-time manager. I became a manager at age 19 and was also promoted 6 months in advance in the Army Reserve. Both of these jobs have shown me what it is to have a real sense of responsibility and to become an exceptional leader. I believe that the success I expect to achieve as an architect will only be equal to the work I put forth now.

Theideabehindtheformwastohavethreeindividualstructurestwistontooneanother;thetwistingofeachindividualfloorplanecreatesuniqueexperienceinsideandout.Thetwistingformprovidesagreenroofoneverylevel.Itprovidesadequateplacementforstrategicallyinstallingphotovoltaicpanels,insteadoftheusualmethodoffacingpanelsonthe“southside”ofthebuilding.Thephotovoltaicpanelswillbelocatedontheperimeterofeveryleveltofullycapturesunlightthroughouttheday.Thecentralatriumbringsindaylightdowntothegymfloor.Theatriumitselftwistsateverylevelsodaylightcanreflectandpenetrateallthewaydowntothemostbottomfloor. Themiddlestructurewillincorporateaneducationalcenterthatwillhouseclassroomsandamulti-recreationalgym.Theeducationalcentercanbeusedbynearbyinstitutionsasanextensiontotheirownclassrooms.Thetwoouterstructureswillfacilitateretaillotsandoffices.TheseretailunitsareopentocommercialstoresorthenearbycomplexessuchastheUnitedCenter.Thetop5floorsofeachstructurewillhouseresidentialunits.

LIVING BUILDING CHALLENGE

The School of Education at Judson University is designed with the highest standards in sustainability. This new structure will positively influence the envi-ronment while providing beauty in every aspect of its design. It will be the newest green building combining ecology, design, and human delight.

The design was to intentionally expose the structure while mak-ing it aesthetically pleasing, to show that sustainbility can to be beautiful. The building in concept is divided into three partitions where the intent was to have the middle partition completely transparent. So Linder tower can be seen through the new build-ing as your driving onto W.River Road.
