Died of a heart attack Feb 12,1971.
SELLING PIGS
James Cash Penny bought and sold pigs
and he also grew and sold watermelons.
He was 8 years old.
COLLEGE AND BUSINESS
James Cash Penny wanted to go to college so he
could be a lawyer but he didn’t have enough money
so he decided to work in a dry good store.
Then he bought a butcher shop with all of his
money.
CLOTHING STORE
James Cash Penny took a job at a clothing store in
Denver, Colorado.
JC PENNY STORE OPENS!!!
1. The JC Penny store opened April 14,1902.
2. It only had one room.
3. James Cash Penny named his store JC Penny.
4. This store made him famous!
