• It is noted that the green portion of the flag was designed to represent the majority Catholic residents of the island, the orange side being the minority Protestant and the white middle part being peace and harmony between them.

Facts:

• The capital city of the Republic of Ireland is Dublin. It is also the largest city of the country.

There are two official languages: English and Irish. Polish is one of the most widely-spoken languages after them.

• The currency of the country is Euro. The national design of the coins is the Celtic harp decorated with the year of issue and the word "Éire".

• The population of Ireland is 4,239,848  million people and gives Ireland the 121th place on the list of countries ordered according to their population.
