Grow Series – V1
Overview
The Marintech Grow Series is a high performance hydroponic grow light capable of outperforming HID technology by nearly 50%. By utilising high performance LEDs and coupling with Marintech’s PAM driver and X‐Lens technology, the Grow Series sets the new standard for hydroponic lighting. Previous LED technology has been unable to seriously compete with HID lighting solutions and has been used as a supplementary solution to increase yield. Our new Grow Series lights are powerful enough to be used as the primary source of light in all hydroponic lighting applications. Thank you for purchasing a Marintech LED Grow light. We are sure you will be happy with the results you achieve.

2. Instructions Operation – The Marintech Grow Series is a technologically advance system but is very easy to use. Simply ensure that the switch on the unit is off, plug in the supplied power cable and switch the unit on. It is that easy! Timer – If you wish to add a timer to the system, simply purchase a mechanical or digital timer (rated at 10A) of your choice and plug between the fixture and the power socket. The units feature soft switching technology to help extend the LED lifespan in the event of minor surges or short circuit. This also ensures that manual switching of power to the light will not affect its longevity (e.g. manual timers). Hanging – To hang the fixture, simply clip on the supplied hanging kit and mount with suitable anchor hardware relevant to the material you are hanging from. You must ensure that the vents on the sides and top of the light are unobstructed (10cm gap required for both top and sides). This will allow adequate ventilation to ensure that the fixture does not overheat. IDS – All Grow Series models feature IDS, the operation of which is indicated by the small red LEDs located on the front panel. Further information can be found in section 6.
3. LED Layouts The standard layout supplied with all Grow Series models is aimed primarily at the bloom/flowering phase of plant growth and focuses more heavily in the red‐orange spectrum. This does not mean that it cannot be used in the vegetation phase. It will still perform excellently during the vegetation phase but for those with the ability to run separate rooms for phases, we suggest purchasing additional Grow Series units fitted specifically with our VEG layout. The optional VEG layout is better suited to the vegetation phase of plant growth due to it focusing more heavily in the blue spectrum. It is not as suited to the bloom/flowering phase which is generally the most important phase for hydroponic growers, hence why it is not supplied as standard. Units fitted with the optional layout will have the word VEG printed on the product label attached to the unit itself. Units fitted with the standard layout will either be printed with the word BLOOM or will not have either words printed. The below pictures indicate the LEDs used in the two different layouts.
BLOOM – Standard Layout
VEG – Optional Layout
4. EpiLED LED All Marintech Grow Series models use the latest LED technology from LED manufacturer, EpiLED. EpiLED is located in Poland and are one of the fastest growing LED manufacturers, gaining popularity for their excellent cost/performance ratio. They are highly renowned for their reliability and durability and due to this are widely used in industrial, medical and military applications. The model of LEDs used in all Grow Series models is EpiLED S35L. More information is available on the EpiLED website – www.epiled.pl
5. X‐Lens The X‐Lens increases total light output by up to 25% over units fitted with standard lenses whilst still retaining the same light spread. The X‐Lenses fitted to each LED use a 90° optic which provides the best compromise between intensity and light spread for the majority of applications. The below picture shows how the X‐Lens refracts light emitted from the LEDs.
6. IDS – Intelligent Detection System All Grow Series models feature our Intelligent Detection System. This system indicates when there is an issue with one of the LED banks in the unit. Each bank is made up of 2 LED clusters (modules), the status of which is indicated by the LED in front of each bank. The IDS allows the unit to detect issues with a bank and isolate it, allowing the other banks to operate unaffected. The below diagram explains each indicator status.
Connection Problem – A connection problem occurs when an LED stops working in one of the modules. In the unlikely event that this occurs, the module will need replacing. If the unit is still covered under warranty, the module will be replaced at Marintech’s expense. If it is out of warranty, you can simply purchase additional modules from Marintech. Please contact us if this issue occurs. Power Driver Malfunction – Each bank has its own separate power driver which supplies power to the relevant modules. The IDS detects when there is an issue with a power driver. A power driver malfunction means that the power driver must be replaced. If the unit is still covered under warranty, the power driver will be replaced at Marintech’s expense. If it is out of warranty, replacement power drivers are available directly from Marintech. Please contact us if this issue occurs.
7. PAM Driver – Pulse‐Amplitude Modulation All Marintech LED lights feature our proprietary PAM driver. Pulse‐Amplitude Modulation, is a method of varying the power of electromagnetic pulses to reduce overall power
consumption. Our implementation of PAM, varies the power to the LEDs so quickly that the naked eye (or the corals/plants for that matter) cannot "see" the modulation of the LEDs. This allows our light to produce the same level of intensity with a 10% reduction in power.
Support All Grow Series LED grow lights are covered by a 3 year warranty. If you experience any issues with the light, please contact us via the details listed on the Marintech website www.ledaquariumlights.net.au Feel free to contact us at any time with your questions or any feedback you may have regarding our product line. Thank you for purchasing a Marintech Grow Series LED grow light ‐ The Marintech Team
