Housing:

Student dormitories are offered by the Studentenwerk Frankfurt/Oder on campus. The Studentenwerk offersin Cottbus six dormitories with one room apartments or single rooms in two- to five room apartments invarious sizes. Rent ranges from 160 to 320 Euros per month. The rooms are furnished and internet access isusually available. The rents also include attendant expenses such as electricity.

Health Insurance:

Students can only enroll at the university if they are insured with a health insurance company. All publichealth insurance companies in Germany offer almost the same benefits, as well as special rates forstudents. At present it costs approx. 68.00 Euro per month (until the age of 30). It is sufficient to get a healthinsurance upon arrival in Germany. In case someone already has a health insurance from his home country,he needs an exemption from the German insurance obligation. You can obtain that exemption at anyGerman public health insurance. Please note that you will only be exempted from a German healthinsurance if you prove adequate coverage that is equivalent to a German insurance.

► Travel insurances are not sufficient!

Language course:

BTU Cottbus offers an Intensive German Language Course three weeks before the start of the lectureperiod. The course is free of charge for all exchange students.
