“Qualified Person” Engineering support for Planned Engineered Lifts per ASME B30.2:

• Lifts in excess of rated capacity are permitted per the planned engineered lift procedure in ASME B30.2.

• The crane supporting structure shall be reviewed by a “qualified person” for any lift over the rated capacity.

• For planned engineered lifts exceeding 125% of the rated capacity, the components shall be reviewed by means of calculations by a “qualified person”.

Planned Engineered Lifts

• Modifications for increased capacity.• Engineering for new crane runways and extensions of existing systems.

• Foundation design, review of existing foundations.

• Field inspections by licensed professional engineers.

• Engineered solutions to eliminate broken tie‐backs.

Crane Runways & Building Structures

• Crane runway surveys by licensed engineers.

• Detailed analyses and field alignment procedures from survey data provided by others.

• Engineered modifications for structural steel alignment.

Crane Runway Surveys

Crane Runway SurveysTypical field alignment tabulation generated after completion of survey data:

Crane Runway SurveysGraphical presentation of field alignment data:

• Call IMS for problems that others have not been able to solve.

• Engineered repairs for structural damage.• Solutions for bridge tracking problems.• Reverse engineering is provided when no drawings exist.

• Structural & mechanical inspections and reports by licensed professional engineers.

• Safety inspections and evaluations for compliance with current industrial codes and engineering standards.

Field Engineering Solutions

Solutions for bridge tracking problems:  Most are due to wheel and/or end truck misalignment.   IMS can provide:

• Field diagnosis of tracking problems.• Precise field measurements of bridge wheel alignment.

• Analysis of the alignment data to determine required corrections.

• Field procedures for correcting wheel misalignment.• Drawings for custom bearing capsules when required.
