PARCC Field Test - Spring 2014

PARCC is acronym for Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers.

ISBE will use Student Course Assignments in SIS to identify students for the 2014 PARCC Field Test.

There are 698 districts with 2007 schools participating in the field test.

23

PARCC Field Test - Spring 2014

Identifying students for the 2014 PARCC Field Test? - Students in Grades 3-11 assigned to courses in the following subjects may

be selected by ISBE to participate in the PARCC Field Test: English Language Arts (ELA) - Subjects 01, 51, and

Mathematics - Subjects 02, 52.

Districts should submit course assignments for those grades and courses/sections that correspond with an assigned field test. This will allow the system to use the PARCC defined random selection guidelines to pull the assigned number of selections and pre-populate the required information.

- One PARCC Pre-ID record will be created per subject area for students taking multiple courses.

- The PARCC Pre-ID report will identify which students should be tested.

24

PARCC Field Test - Spring 2014

Essential school district activities - Student Course Assignments must be up to date in SIS by 4 p.m.

January 21:

Students will be selected based on active Student Course Assignments. Student Course Assignments with an End Date will not be included.

- If no other action is taken by a school district:

ISBE will use the Student Course Assignment data to generate a PARCC Pre-ID file of students for the field test. The PARCC Pre-ID file sent to Pearson will not include accommodations for

students taking tests.

25

PARCC Field Test - Spring 2014

students for the PARCC Field Test. - The generated file will be available for districts to download and review via

the SIS Request File. The “gifted/talented” and “accommodations” fields will be defaulted to “no/02”. The “assessment accommodation category” will be defaulted to “blank”. Districts will have the option to make adjustments to these fields in the Pre-ID file prior to 4

p.m. January 21. After that date, any changes to “gifted/talented” and “accommodations” must be made on PearsonAccess. - Web site: http://www.pearsonaccess.com/cs/Satellite?pagename=Pearson/QuickLink/pc - Phone Number: 888-493-9888 (Help Desk)
