CHCI

Students must take one science ...

to meet the GROUP 4 IB requirement.

We offer:Chemistry at both Higher and Standard Level

Physics at the Standard Level

Standard Level vs. Higher Level

Standard Level, SL = 150 hr one whole year in grade 11

Higher Level, HL = 240 hr(over gr 11 and 12 years)

✘ Core Units of Study (95 hr)✘ Option Area of study (15 hr)✘ Practical Activities (40 hr)

❖ Additional Units of Study (60 hr)❖ Additional Option Area (25 hr)❖ Additional Practical Activities (5 hr)

Higher level is NOT better.

Students may choose a second science

● This would be an elective from Group 6.

● This takes away an arts course options.

● Must be an SL course (chemistry, physics)

University Science Programs generally require two of the three science courses.

✘ The requirements will be one of or two of the three science courses we offer: ✗ SBI 4U -- biology (HL)✗ SCH 4U -- chemistry (either HL or SL)✗ SPH 4U -- physics (SL)
