Question: Are you a team player?

Incorrect answer: I’m not really a people person.

you’ve done as part of a team.

Question: What is your greatest strength?

What not to say:

• How much do I get paid for this job?• what does your company do?• what can you do for me, how are the bonuses, promotions and holidays?• Do not swear or use profanity• never criticize your former employer• if you are asked if you have any questions, do not say ‘no’.(think of at least three questions to ask about the company. For example, What plans the company has to expand over the next ten years. Another question could be what new products or services they are considering to offer).

What to say:

• I have good interpersonal skills• I am a people person• I am determined• I am able to prioritize• I am a team player• I have the ability to be flexible• I pay attention to detail

Question: What is your biggest weakness?

What not to say:

• I’m really lazy• I can’t control my temper• I work too hard• I have trouble meeting deadlines

What to say:(These are examples)

• afraid of public speaking but have signed up for a public speaking class to overcome my fear (This is an example of something you are aware of and are doing something about)• I do not like to quit until the job is done

Body language• Make eye contact• shake everyone’s hand with a firm handshake• be courteous• smile• do not cross your arms in front of yourself• listen intently to someone when they are speaking to you• sit up straight

Follow up

• always write a thank you note!

• after a few days call to check the status (this shows you have an interest in the job)
