How to develop Serenity

by Carolina von Scharten

SPIRITISM – GET TO KNOW

GOD => THE SUPREME INTELLIGENCE

FIRST CAUSE OF ALL THINGS

JESUS=> OUR GUIDE AND MODEL

KARDEC => THE FUNDAMENTAL BASE

Serenity is the ability . . .

• . . . to stay cantered and connected to yourself regardless what happens in your

external surroundings.

• Therefore, it has nothing to do with suppressing emotions like anger or

jubilation. Serenity does not promote to “grin and bear it."

Emotions

Keep space inside of you

• The connectedness to your inner centre brings peace in the midst of your sadness, confusion or

joy.• Serenity can be described as keeping “space”

inside of you and around your emotions and thoughts even if:

– Your supervisor yells at you, – You are stuck at an airport,

– Your child comes home with a failing grade– Your computer crashes.

• Serenity gives you the freedom of choice in how to deal with a given situation.

Keep space inside of you

Let your potential unfold

• Serenity is the quality of everybody who masters life instead of succumbing to its conditions. With peace and spaciousness within, which is derived from connection to your centre, you allow your energy, your potential, and your productivity to

unfold.

Let it be your constant companion

• You need to practice and to cultivate it.

• Think about past situations where you felt the positive emotions on your list and make a

note of each event to remind you.

Serenity Practices

Serenity Practices• A spirit always possesses free-will. It is in virtue

of this free-will that he chooses, when in the spirit-state, the trials he elects to undergo In the corporeal life, and that he deliberates, when in

the incarnate state whether he will do, or not do, and chooses between good and evil. To deny a man's free-will will would be to reduce him to a

machine.

Tips on Serenity

• Time has become our most precious commodity.• True richness is expressed in having time.

• Time is life, not money.

• What really matters takes time to unfold: Friendship, trust, love, understanding,

forgiveness, the sense of belonging, and inner freedom.

• Relaxation is the key for stepping out of the rut and for reclaiming life.

• If the canyons were sheltered from the storm, we could never

see the beauty of their carvings.
