How to activate Chinese on your

computer?

Disclaimer• These steps are based on the

settings of Windows Vista and Windows 7.

• If you are using Windows XP or older OS, there might be some difference in the steps involved.

Click “START” control panel

A pop up window will appear.

Click “Clock, Language and Region”

A pop up window will appear.

Click “Change keyboards or other input methods”

A pop up window will appear.

Click “Change keyboards”

A pop up window will appear.

Click “Add”

Look for Chinese (Simplified, PRC).

Click “Microsoft IME / Microsoft PINYIN”

Click “Apply”

Make sure you have a language bar.

To activate , change language to CH.

To type Chinese using Hanyu Pinyin. Make sure your setting is at “ 中” .

To type English, press ‘shift’ on your keyboard and your setting will be

changed to “ 英” .
