All 7th grade students had the wonderful opportunity to hear WWII
veterans speak here at Horace Mann about their experiences in the
war. We were honored to have this once in a life time presentation
by local veterans, Walter John Chilsen, Jarl Roine, Clarence
Marschall, Bill Hall, Norm McMhon and speaker Paula Barnes.

Parents: An Important Reminder
About Messages for Students
Our goal is to preserve the learning
environment here at Horace Mann.

your student. Otherwise, if the
message can wait, we ask that it wait;
including forgotten items. We want to
limit the number of interruptions in the
classroom so we can focus on
learning. Thank you!
To ensure that we have
accurate contact
information on file for
every student, please
contact Shannon
Keough in the
Counseling office at

Calendar of Events
Dear Horace Mann Middle School families,
As another school year comes to a close, I am reminded just how much we have accomplished as a
school community: Our eighth graders are one step closer to embarking on their high school careers; our
seventh graders are ready to assume the responsibilities that come with being upperclassmen at Horace
Mann, and our sixth graders are now seasoned middle school students. We could not have achieved any
of this without the support of our families, parents, and guardians.
When our doors open again in September, we will operate within a 10-period day, and students’
schedules will individually reflect their needs and interests. What an exciting time to be a Horace Mann
Eagle!
On behalf of all of us here at Horace Mann, thank you for all you do to advance our mission,
Student Learning - Whatever It Takes!
Sincerely,
Dr. Julie Sprague
