Donna LeClair, Massasoit Women’s

Center Director, coordinated the event

held at noon, March 31, 2010 in the upper

lounge of the Student Center Brockton.

The event was the culmination of several months of work by the student clubs, Senior Center, Women’s resource Center, and the Library.

As part of the One Book One College Program, the college acted as “One Community” to collect handmade knitted and crocheted items, clothes, food, bedding, and other items to be donated to the Jon Louison Center, Schools on Wheels, and Mainspring House.

The Keynote speaker, Dennis Carman, President & CEO, United Way Plymouth was inspirational and wowed

everyone with his guitar and moving ballads.

He was followed by representatives from the other recipient organizations; Tom Washington, Father Bills & Mainspring; Lila Burgess, Jon Louison Center; Joanna Channell, School on Wheels

According to Ms. LeClair, “The recipient organizations were OVERWHELMED!”
