HOMELESSNESS TOURDOWN AND OUT IN STUTTGART
Why is there Homelessness in a first world country? Who is at fault? Do they have to be Homeless?What Services are available?10th Grade decided to find out.
THE PATH The Tour begins at Marienplatz, once a common
hangout for drug-users and the homeless, this tour took us along a simple route which showed us the services available for the under-privileged. We were informed of available shelters, soup kitchens, Sozialamt assistance, work opportunities and charity organizations.
We also learned how the government has been trying to fight the issue of unemployment, as well as efforts taken to clean up the streets.
We concluded that theoretically, there should be no issue of homelessness, or poverty in Stuttgart – but rather it is more commonly a matter of pride.
