Prayer and Reflection May 1, 2016 6th Sunday of Easter
Jesus prepared his followers for his departure by promising them peace, guidance by the Holy Spirit, and his eventual return. Carrying on in his absence was not easy. Faith in him did not eliminate the need for the new church to make assignments, resolve issues or deal with conflict caused by new teachings. But they knew they were responsible for keeping his vision alive. They discerned, accommodated, made judgements, and acted on the strength of their deep faith. Just as we must continue to do. In the spirit of Jesus’s early followers, we seek assurance for ourselves and for all who are in need. And so, we pray… For the whole church that still needs the comforting love of Christ and the assurance of his abiding presence among us…we pray, For all who are in need of peace in our families, our neighborhoods, our nation and the whole world…we pray, For competent leaders and visionaries who guide us when our path is unclear…we pray, For skilled negotiators and facilitators who help us work through our differences and misunderstandings…we pray, For those who need encouragement and direction to accomplish their calling in life…we pray, For those who help others deal with loss and disappointment…we pray, For those who suffer from poverty, mental or physical illness, or the ability to care for themselves or others…we pray, For the special needs of this community; for those who have died and for those who are grieving…we pray, Prayer: Gracious God, we continue to rely on the promises of your son, Jesus, as we carry on his work to bring all people to you and your kingdom of peace to fruition. Grant us all that we need when we are weary, uncertain or afraid. We pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
HOLY FAMILY PARISH 6TH SUNDAY OF EASTER
”
Se alguém me ama, guardará a minha palavra. VI Domingo do Tempo Pascal (Ano C): At 15,1-2.22-29; Sl 66(67); Ap 21,10-14.22-23; Jo 14,23-29.
.(Extraído do Dia do Senhor)
