There are exciting new shows and the return of some favourites including The South African Gospel Singers, Ed Byrne and friend of HfC, Rick Wakeman along with a lovely selection of children’s shows and dance, I hope that you find some shows that you will enjoy.
This season we also welcome back Theatre Royal Bath Productions, who will be opening the UK tour of Dr Marigold and Mr Chops starring Simon Callow, I saw it in London and it is wonderful. If you enjoyed Sir Derek Jacobi’s King Lear, you will love Simon’s

The superb score includes Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally charged hit Tell Me it’s Not True.
Few musicals have received quite such acclaim as the multi-award winning BLOOD BROTHERS, and Bill Kenwright’s production, having recently celebrated its 23rd phenomenal year in London, continues to enjoy standing ovations at every devastating performance. Simon Callow is a virtuoso storyteller who has already presented the life of Britain’s greatest novelist in The Mystery of Charles Dickens in both the West End and on Broadway. Now he brings to life two one-man plays by Charles Dickens after a sell-out London run. In an absorbing theatrical event he tells the stories of Dr Marigold, a travelling salesman who adopts a little deaf and dumb girl and Mr Chops, a freak-show turn who wins the lottery and a place in society. Adapted by Patrick Garland, these masterpieces, which were hugely popular when Dickens himself performed them on his famed reading tours, provide a masterly blend of the comic, bizarre and poignant that is classic Dickens.
Simon Callow recently played Pozzo in Waiting for Godot and has starred in the Oscar-winning films A Room with a View, Howard’s End and Shakespeare in Love.
Probably the most entertaining group to come out of the 60s and 70s. Their musicianship, their harmonies and of course their humour makes them what their peers call them ‘The Guvnors’ … all that plus they inspired Bill Wyman to buy a Guitar back in 1961. You’ll be rockin’ and laughing as well as rollin’.

The one-man show “An Evening With Rick Wakeman” pretty much came about by accident. Quite simply, his gear didn’t arrive for a show and all there was available was a piano. Only three people took up the offer of their money back, and “An Evening With Rick Wakeman” was born.

The love story that gripped Paris. A tragic tale of searing passion and memorable music, La Traviata is Verdi’s outstanding interpretation of one of the most popular love stories of the 19th century, La Dame aux Camelias.
Based on a true story, it tells of the passionate consumptive Violetta. There are many echoes of Verdi’s own life in Traviata and he threw himself into the music. The highlights include the Brindisi, the best known drinking song in opera, the duet Un Di Felice and Violetta’s haunting aria Addio Del Passato.
This magnificent production boasts sumptuous sets and costumes.

One of Alan Bennett’s biggest hits, The Madness of George III premiered at the National Theatre and became an international theatrical sensation and an award-winning film. This epic production combines drama, politics and humour into a vivid theatrical portrait of English history.
George III studied science, founded the Royal Academy of Arts, took a keen interest in agriculture and fathered 15 children. During his reign, Great Britain and Ireland became the United Kingdom but he is best-remembered for his bouts of unbridled lunacy when it seemed that the future of the monarchy was at stake.

Noah & The Whale
Cornwall’s family pantomime
Robinson Crusoe is about to board ship for a turbulent, fun-packed voyage he’s not going to forget in a hurry. He faces being shipwrecked in a strange land where he will have to work with his friends to outwit the dastardly, keel-hauling Cornish Pirates. A hungry sea monster, some cheeky monkeys and fearsome gorillas all add to the excitement as Robinson has the adventure of his life! Booking is now open so batten down the hatches, splice the mainbrace and set your t’gallants for a voyage to fun and laughter.
This year’s swashbuckling, fun-filled family panto is a real Christmas treat
