The streets are made of purest gold.
Revelation 21:21
It is a place where...
There will be no tears, no death, no crying, no pain
Revelation 21:4
Righteousness dwells 2 Peter 3:13
We will forever live in God’s Presence
1 Thessalonians 4:17
Have you ever taken something that wasn’t yours or
borrowed something without returning it?
What does that make you?
Have you ever looked with lust in your heart?
What does that make you?AJesus said, “I tell you that
anyone who looks at a woman (man) lustfully has already
committed adultery with her (him) in his (her) heart.” Matt.
5:28
IF
. . . you were to die today and stand before a holy and just
God, would you go to heaven or hell?
Based on just 3 of God’s laws, would you be innocent or
guilty?
So then based on ‘goodness’ or ‘good works’ how good is good
enough?
The fact is that if you’ve sinned even once, then you’re
disqualified on the basis of good works.
Here are some Scriptures to consider.
“The soul who sins will die.”Ezekiel 18:4b
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23So then, the penalty for sin is
death.
"In him we have redemption THROUGH HIS BLOOD, the forgiveness of sins, in
accordance with the riches of God's grace.” Ephesians 1:7
"...Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third
day, according to the Scriptures."
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
The penalty of death must be paid
As the sinless Son of God, Jesus is the only one Who could satisfy the just penalty of our
sins.
But why the blood?
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.”
Leviticus 17:11
So as Jesus poured out His blood, He poured out His life,
satisfying the death penalty for sin.
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. “
Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.”Isaiah 1:18
Peter, preaching his first sermon, declared,
“And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be
saved...Acts 2:21
And"Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39
The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for
all whom the Lord our God will call." Act 2:38-39
Now we come by faith in Jesus’ perfect sacrifice . . .
9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with
your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess
and are saved.Romans 10:9-10
After committing your life to Christ, you will grow in
faith by...1. Reading your Bible every day.2. Praying every day
3. Find a church where they believe the Bible and will
declare its truth. 4. Share what Jesus has done for you to those around you.
Behold , I stand at the door, and
knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the
door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and
he with me.Revelation 3:20
