Dilapidated Housing Removal Continues…
• To date, thirty (30) offending structures have been removed.
• The City has spent a total of $49,341 to remove dilapidated structures.
Home Depot FoundationBuilding Healthy Communities Grant
• Awarded $2,500 Home Depot Gift Card for residential wheelchair ramp construction.
• To date, Five (5) ramps built with Two (2) more coming soon.
• Over sixty (60) volunteer labor hours contributed.

Dilapidated Substandard Standard
Housing Fairs:
• Through a partnership with the Middle Georgia Regional Commission, the Hawkinsville GICH Team was awarded $500 to conduct two (2) housing fairs.
Major Funding Applications:
• HOPE VI: Main Street Grant (March 2010)– Requested $1,000,000 in partnership with a
private developer to rehabilitate a portion of the former Pillowtex Mill into 11 units of affordable housing.

More Major Funding Applications:
• CDBG Housing (April 2010)– Requested $500,000 for rehabilitation and
reconstruction of ten (10) owner-occupied units as well as demolition of four (4) vacant, dilapidated housing units along McDuffie Street.

• CHIP Housing (July 2010)– Requested $300,000 for owner-occupied housing
rehabilitation on the north side of downtown Hawkinsville..
