Ifyouhaven’tthoughtaboutit,youshould.I’mreferringtothecomingoftheLord.Hetoldustonotletourheartsbe-comelikethoseofthesinners,toooccupiedwiththethingsofthisworldtowatchforhim.“And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares,”Luke 21:34.Remember,ifwetrulyarehispeople,wearetobeaspilgrimspassingthroughthisworld.Insteadweareoftenfoundtobeasthosewhothinkthatthislifeisallthereis,workingtomakelifegoodhereandlettingourspirituallivesgoneglected. Don’tthinkthatbecausewegiveanhouronSundaymorning that we are doing some great sacrifice for the Lord. If thatisallwewanttogivetoGodthenwewouldbelikethoseinMalachi who gave a blind, or lame, lamb for an offering. Giving GodthescrapsofourserviceandtimeisnotgivingGodourbest. ThenthereisthefallingawayinkeepingtheteachingsoftheLord.IhaveoftenquotedthewordsofJesusinLuke6:46insermons,“Andwhycallyeme,Lord,Lord,anddonotthethingswhichIsay?”TomakesomepeoplehappysomechurchesandministershavesoftenedthewordofGod.Ihaveread,andheard,someso-called“Preachers”,saythatthebiblewaswronganddismissedwhatGodhassaid.ArethosewhodothisreallylookingforthecomingoftheLord? Next,lookattheworldandwhatisgoingoninit.“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, un-holy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,

incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power there-of: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth,”2 Tim 3:1-7. Thisisnotsomethingthatwillhappenatsomefuturetime,butisnowinourday.Wehavewitnessedthisforsometimenowanditgetworseastimegoesby.Technologydoesn’tbringmostpeopleclosertogether,orclosertoGod,itdividesthem. Haven’tyoubeeninsomerestaurant,orotherpublicplace,andseen2or3peopleatatableontheirphones?Togetherphysically,butfarapartintheirminds.Eveninchurchsome-timespeopletextothers,orplaygames.Lis-tening toGod’sword,worshiping theLord?No,aswiththeir family,or friends, theyare there inbody,but theirheartsaresomewhereelse.Can’tpeoplegiveGodsometime and worship without thinking of this world? Isn’tthatwhysomefussifthesermongoesafewminuteslon-gerthanusual?Theycan’twaittogetbacktothethingsthat bring them pleasure. For where your treasure is,therewillyourheartbealso.Luke12:34Jesusiscomingbackjustashesaidhewould,arewewatchingandready?
