provide a student prospective and voice to power based personal violence prevention, response, and
policy initiatives on campus. Power based personal
violence is defined as sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking. The goal of this board is not
only to create programs and events, but also
develop long term goals for how we as a community can end violence on our campus. The
group meets biweekly and provides opportunities
for members to progress their own understanding of power based personal violence, and share this
knowledge with the FSU community.

RED KETTLE BELL RINGERS NEEDED!!
The Red Kettle Campaign, along with the Angel Tree Program, is one of the most recognizable Christmas efforts of The Salvation Army. The Red Kettle Campaign was created in 1891 by Salvation Army Captain Joseph McFee as a way to provide a Christmas dinner to San Francisco’s poorest individuals.
Since the campaign’s creation, the Salvation Army now provides assistance to more than four-and-a-half million people in the U.S. during Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Red Kettle campaign has also spread to other parts of the world, including Korea, Japan, Chile and many European countries.
This year, the need is greater than ever. We will be working with the Toys for Tots program as they transition their families into our Angel Tree program, doubling the number of children and seniors we serve during the holidays. Our community holiday dinner has also doubled in size to an expected 500 meals this year. These programs, as well as others, are funded through the Red Kettle Campaign.
WINTER SOLTICE 2017 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We will be having our Winter Solstice, an annual celebration that highlights the history and culture of Native Americans in Florida and other southeastern states. Visitors from the North Florida area and beyond come to the Mission for this exciting two day event featuring Native American culture, music, crafts, demonstrations, living history reenactments, astronomy, and more. We are inviting tribes from Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina to host informational booths and demonstrators of tribal culture. Native American musicians will be performing throughout the festival and a number of ceremonial dances will be held on site.
If you would like to volunteer for this event please email Amy at amy.christianson@dos.myflorida.com (850) 222 0304.

MARKET DAYS VOLUNTEERS Market Days is a premier, juried arts & crafts show containing 300 of the finest artisans around the country. It offers a wonderful array of works in various price ranges, and proceeds benefit the Tallahassee Museum. Pennywise, the dancing clown. If you don’t
know the name, you soon will. When
Georgie gets taken by “It,” the Losers Club
has to stand up to Pennywise before any
more kids get kidnapped in their town. The
catch: they have to do it while battling
against their greatest fears. This pop culture
phenomenon is based on the novel by
Stephen King.
