abakalebara is the grandest of all festivals in Shree Mandir when Shree Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Shree Sudarsan, the wooden deities assume new bodies. The new deities are ceremoniously taken out on three gorgeously decorated chariots, pulled by millions of devotees on the day of Rath Yatra (Car Festival) from the Sri Jagannath temple to Sri Gundicha temple. This year’s Rath Yatra and Bahuda Yatra fall on 18th and 26th July, respectively.
In view of huge tourist arrivals, Government of Odisha has arranged temporary accommodation and parking facilities at 33 places and parking facilities in 26 places in and around Puri town with all basic amenities. The detail of accommodation and parking facilities are clearly indicated in the location map. The visitors can avail the facilities at these places branded as Nabakalebara Villages (NV) free of cost, for their short stay during festivities. These NVs have been divided into seven zones (Zone I to Zone VII).
Free bus services are available for all tourists from Malatipatpur Bus stand to various NVs. In Malatipatpur Bus stand, toilets, bathing units, drinking water, dormitory, food court, tourist information counter and security arrangements are available.
The following facilities are available for the well being of the pilgrims/ tourists in all the temporary accommodation sites (NVs).
Consumption of alcohol, smoking and cooking inside NVs is strictly prohibited in the accommodation places (NVs).

uri is considered to be one of the four most sacred places (Dham) for the Hindus. It attracts millions of devotees every year for the Shrine of Lord Jagannath (Lord of the Universe). It is situated on the eastern coast of the Bay of Bengal with a stretch of 8 kms un-spoilt beach, located at a distance of 60 kms from Bhubaneswar- the capital city of Odisha. The magnificent 12th century AD, Jagannath Temple is 192 ft. high.
The unique Car Festival (Rath Yatra) held in the month of June-July is one of the most colorful festivals of the State. Millions of pilgrims and visitors draw the traditionally ornate divine chariot in ecstasy. The chariots are drawn from the Jagannath Temple to Gundicha Temple, situated at a distance of 3kms and the return journey after 9 days is held amidst intense religious fervor are witnessed by millions of people across the world.
Konark (35 km) : The crowning glory of Kalinga Temple Architecture has reached its pinnacle with the 13th century Sun Temple is also popularly known as the ‘Black Pagoda’. This is a UNESCO World Heritage site where the language of man is defeated by the language of stone.Balighai (8 km): Famous for Sea Beach & Scenic spot with Balukhanda Sanctuary.Beleswar (14 km) : Shrine of Lord Beleswar on the Sea Beach.Kuruma (43 km) : The little village is famous and shot into the limelight with the discovery of ancient sculptures of Buddha seated in Bhumisparsha Mudra along with the image of Heruka.Ramachandi (27 km) : Goddess Ramachandi is worshipped with great devotion. The place is on the confluence of river Kushabhadra & the Bay of Bengal having serene ambience.Kakatpur (60 km) : Located in the Prachi Valley, famous for its shrine of Goddess Mangala.
Astaranga (70 km) : It is a famous fishing harbour. Situated right on the Bay of Bengal, the place really lives upto its name because of the scenic view of Sunset and Sunrise.Satapada (50 km) : Satapada, a scenic spot on Chilika, is an ideal destination for watching birds (bird sanctuary) & Irrawadi Dolphins.Brahmagiri (25 km) : Shrine of Lord Alaranath-Vishnu. During Anasara period of Lord Jagnnath, devotees visit in large numbers to this place.Manikapatna(42 km) : An old historical port site associated with Kanchi-Kaveri legend of Lord Jagannath. The famous Bhabakundaleswar Temple is also located.Raghurajpur (12 km) : An artisan village, famous for ‘Pattachitra’ paintings. It is now a Rural Tourism site managed by the local community.Sakhigopal (17 km) : Famous for the sacred shrine of Lord KrishnaBiswanath Hill (35 km) : A panoramic view with a hill-top shrine of Lord Shiva.Baligaon (30 km) : The place is otherwise known as Bhakta Dasia Pitha.Siruli (20 km) : Known for the famous Mahaveer (Hanuman) Temple amidst a picturesque ambience.Pipili (40 km) : It is the place for world famous Handicrafts, the Applique work, known locally as Chandua.
