Fretboard Fluency

In the Fretboard Fluency module, we apply harmony & theory to our fretboard to bolster our harmonic playing skills on the guitar. This will build a foundation for our improvisations skills and helps us analyze and understand how solos are build up from a melodic and harmonic perspective. We will work our way through all 5 positions on the guitar neck in a systematic way, playing:

§ Intervals (2 notes) § Triads (3 notes) § Arpeggios (4 notes) § Pentatonic scales & the Blues scale (5-6 notes) § Modes of the Major scale, the Harmonic Minor scale and

the Melodic Minor scale (7 notes) § The Octatonic scale (8 notes) § The Augmented Scale (6 notes)

The exercises in this module we will applied to one key. As soon as you have mastered any of the exercises, try applying it to other keys as well. As with learning good things, we can also learn mistakes. The more often we repeat a mistake, the more difficult it is to get rid of it. Therefore, make sure to always lower the tempo and start over from the beginning when you made a mistake.
