Squad has donated 3,012 manhours so far in 2013. The Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads advises the national standard rate per hour for rescue service to counties in Tennessee to be $21.79 per hour, so

the value of the hours is $65,639. In addition, rescue squad personnel donated 15,689 miles, which makes another $3,608 donation,

based on the IRS standard of 23 cents per mile for medical transportation. Year to date, the total sav-ings to Obion County is $69,247, a spokesman said.

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) — A Richmond man apparently realized he was too drunk to drive, so he tapped a designated driver — an 11-year-old boy.

The Richmond Register reported an off-duty Madison County deputy saw a car drive be her home Monday with a driver so short he could barely see over the steer-ing wheel. WKYT-TV in Lexington reported the child was 11.

Deputy Michelle Albertson got into her cruiser and soon found the car parked in a driveway.

Albertson’s report said 41-year-old Robert Wayne Buckner was in the vehi-cle, intoxicated.

Buckner was charged with wanton endanger-ment and endangering the welfare of a minor.
