will ensure compliance with all NCAA and any affiliatedconference regulations, and is charged with theresponsibility that all members of the Athletic Departmentstaff have full knowledge and abide by the same rulesand regulations. The Director shall be knowledgeable and have the abilityto implement and follow policies and regulations of theUniversity and all regulatory bodies. The Director shalldevelop and recommend to the University President anannual operating budget under established Universityprocedure. The Director shall administer and operatewithin that budget approved by the Chief FinancialOfficer. The Director shall recommend students for allathletic scholarships with the appropriate terms andconditions and insure student athlete's eligibility tocontinue on scholarship. Understands and follows therules and regulations of the NCAA, Conference andUniversity Policies & Procedures.
Involvement in thedevelopment of new andexisting programs within theUniversity:
The Director is responsible for the overall direction andsupervision of existing programs and the development ofall new programs. The Director shall advise the Presidentand University Athletics Advisory Board on a regularbasis of the fiscal operations and activities of the area.The Director shall provide general direction andparticipants in fund raising activities for intercollegiateathletics.

The Director of Intercollegiate Athletics has regularcontact with students, faculty, staff, alumni and theUniversity community at large. Outside contact includessports groups, counterparts from other universities andconference affiliations. The Director will also haveregular contact with the FAU Foundation to assist in thecoordination of alumni programs and developing BoosterClubs and assist the Vice President for UniversityAdvancement in determining effective strategies for thedevelopment of outside sources of income.

The Director is responsible for the formation andsubmittal of the Athletic Department budgets andmonitoring of expenditures to assure that the Divisionstays within the approved annual operating budget.
