LIBERTY CORNER, NJ -- The Fireman'sFund Insurance Company has inked amulti-year deal with the MillenniumGroup for on-site office and facilitiessupport services within 13 facilitiesacross the U.S.

At FFIC, Office Services encom-passes mail, central and distributedprint/copy, shipping/receiving, file roommanagement, reception services, pro-curement activities, and light facilities.For these services, TMG is deployingover 120 employees throughout head-quarters and operating facilities innorthern and southern California, Chi-cago, Atlanta, New York, Dallas, St.Louis, Hartford, Bethlehem (PA), andLiberty Corner (NJ).

Fireman's Fund Insurance Company beganin 1863 in San Francisco, and its name re-flects its colorful beginnings. FFIC wasnamed for an arrangement in which it paid10 percent of its profits to widows and or-phans of firefighters -- a social mission thattoday provides millions of dollars in grantsfor equipment, training and educationalprograms to fire departments across thecountry. TMG offers FFIC its expertise in of-fice services.

The FFIC Reception area is staffed by professionals such as Sylvia Schloeffel, who nowhandles both the switchboard and the reception area. This consolidation was one of thebest practices identified in looking at the 13 facilities.

The TMG professionals working in the Re-cords Management area at FFIC must bewell versed in insurance and have an eyefor detail. FFIC handles a variety of spe-cialty insurance lines, so professionalssuch as Helena Noonan (top), Linette Flem-ing (middle), and Barbara Flanagan (bot-tom) must cross check each record andplace it in the correct area for retrieval.

Eugene (Gene) Wuest runs the Support Services show at FFIC's Liberty Corner operation.As office services manager (site manager), Gene is well versed in all areas of support oper-ations. Here, he is checking supplies and filling orders for FFIC customers.

TMG has found efficiencies by bringing mail together with mail and copy services. MarioMacera manages to run these dual operations by making mail a priority in the morning andlate afternoon and filling the middle hours with work in the copy center.

The office services crew together after a busy day realizing efficiencies for FFIC. Its effortswill redound to cost-cutting and enhanced productivity.
