As we look through patterns and books of beautiful quilts we can be amazed by how they are created. What looks challenging can be made easier with the proper tools. Learn to make a Dressden plate block in the “Sunday Best” class using the “EZ Dressden”tool. Use the “Lil’ Twister” tool to create a simple pinwheel wallhanging in the “Twisted Sixter class. The Rangely Star quilt is created using the “Tucker Trimmer,” and the unique design of the “Dearest Friend” is done using the “X-Blocks” rulers. We will take it step by step in class so your quilt will be just as beautiful
Learn how to paper piece in the beginner’s paper piecing class, “Feathered Star” class. Once you’ve learned the basics, you can try the more detailed quilts such as the Bright Star Flower or the In A Pickle.
Add a little sparkle to the log cabin block! Diamond shapes are added to the traditional block to form a star in the center in the Timberline Log Cabin Quilt. In the Eldon , the Log Cabin Block is paired with a Star Block to create an simply elegant quilt.
Needles, thread, and tension, “Oh My!” Learn to make them all work together in the TNT class to produce spectacular projects for years to come. A few new techniques have captured our interest. Learn how to cut, fold and sew your fabric to make a beautiful multi dimensional pillow in the Cathedral Window class. The Folded Circle Centerpiece also uses a special cut, fold, and sew to make your project “pop”. Or, take those long strip scraps and crochet a one of a kind vintage rug.
Several classes will take us into the holiday season, like “Fall’s Finery” for Thanksgiving, a French Braid Tree Skirt and a simple “Charming Christmas” wall hanging will beautifully decorate your house. Serve your holiday guests in the “Oh Sew Pretty In Bloom” apron in one of our many new Christmas fabrics.
We are listening to all our customers’ requests and trying to schedule a wide variety of classes to cover everyone’s interests. However, if we have not scheduled the class you are interested in or the timing of the class doesn’t work please contact the store. We welcome your feedback and suggestions. If you have a group of 5 or more we can schedule an ongoing class with you during the week.
We invite you to come to Country Traditions and take a class or two. We know you will enjoy it and have a great time learning something new!
