Export Desktop Motion Analyzer profiles to Motion Analyzer Online:

Logix CAM Profile

For: Motion profiles with simple or static loads

Quickest and easiest export option

Does not export load data

1. To export motion profiles from Desktop Motion Analyzer to Motion Analyzer Online tool using a

Logix CAM Profile, first open both tools.

Open your existing Desktop Motion Analyzer axis that you would like to export.

2. From the Group View, select the motion profile icon of the axis profile that you would like to export.

3. From the Profile view, select “Edit Motion Profile.”

4. Select “Export”

5. Select “Next >.” Then select “Logix CAM Profile Editor,” then “Next >” again.

6. Select “Motion Axis Time Cam (MATC)” and then “Next >” again.

7. Select “Next >” again. Then select either “Clipboard” or “File.” Using “Clipboard” will be quicker and

easier. If you select “File,” save the profile to a known location and open it.

8. Open Motion Analyzer Online by navigating to https://motionanalyzer.rockwellautomation.com/ in

your web browser.

9. Login to your account and select “Start a New Project.”

10. Enter a project name and description, then select “Create Project.”

11. Adjust the Ambient Temp and Altitude to match those used in the Desktop Motion Analyzer profile.

See below for directions to find that data. Select “Go to project.”

To find the ambient temperature and altitude in Desktop Motion Analyzer, open the “Axis View”

from the “Home” tab, open your axis, and select the “Motor” or “Linear Thruster” tab.

12. Select “Create New Axis & Profile.”

13. Select a motion type that matches that of the one you are exporting from Desktop Motion Analyzer.

Then select “Ok.”

14. Name and define the initial load to match the initial load from the Desktop Motion Analyzer profile.

Then select “Submit.”

15. Select “Import Profile”.

16. Select “Add Studio 5000 CAM Profile”. If you selected to export the data to the clipboard, simply

paste the data into the field. If you save to a file, open that file, select and copy all of the data, and

then paste it into the field. Then select “Preview/Edit.”

17. Verify that the data imported correctly, and then select “Import CAM Profile.” Wait until Motion

Analyzer Online uploads it and loads the updated motion profile view.

18. Use the resize arrows to scale the profile.

19. Because no load data transfers with this profile, you will need to manually add it. To do so, first click

on the initial point show on the left edge of the graph.

20. Edit the initial load, then click “Submit.”

21. After setting your initial load, click anywhere else on the graph to set another point. You can click

anywhere in the open space, including on a time marker line. Do not click on the shaded area under

the graph, or you will be asked to edit an existing point.

If you click on a line, you will be asked if you would like to add a point. Select “Ok.”

22. Wherever you click, you will receive the same options to define another point. Set the time and

load, then select “Submit.”

Define at least a starting and ending point.

23. You can also create a new point by selecting “Add Point.”

Then select the load you would like to add a point to, and define a point as described above.

24. If you would like to add more points for a complicated load, do so by repeating steps 20-23.

25. If you need to edit or delete a point, click on that point. To edit it, change the values and select

“Submit.” To delete it, select “Delete.”

If you chose to delete it, select “Yes, delete this point.”

26. Save your profile.
