Pre-Job Briefing Expectations

Completion of an Electric Transmission Field Operations (ETFO) Pre-Job Brief (PJB) form is required:

At beginning of each work day

Any time a change in the day’s activity occurs in which the new activity has the potential for:

Significant anticipated duration or likelihood to evolve into more extensive/lengthy work

Need to pull prints, research, etc.

The ETFO Pre-Job Briefing Form…

Helps identify critical steps, roles & responsibilities

Integrates job Safety, Personal Protective Equipment and Human Performance (HP) Tools into the Pre-Job Briefing discussion

Prompts discussion of lessons learned during previous personal experiences with task and/or location

Intends for the leader of the briefing to typically be the work team lead rather than the supervisor

Requires electronic completion [submit at least weekly for storage on SharePoint]

Purpose: Gain awareness of risks before starting tasks (lessons learned)

Critical Step and Task are tied to the PJB’s checkboxes

Single, stand-alone file that resides on each PC hard drive, for accessibility regardless of network availability
