Shot/reverse shot
Shot/reverse shot - Two shots edited together that alternate characters, typically in a conversation or situation. Usually characters in one frame look left, and in the following frame look right. Must ensure that the right amount of shots are filmed to make the ‘shot-reverse-shot’ sequence work.
Eyeline Match
Eyeline Match - A cut between two shots, in which the first shots how’s a person looking off in one direction, and the second shot shows either a space containing what he or she sees, or a person looking back in exactly the opposite direction.
Order of shots
• Help the watcher understand continuity. These are cuts that take us seamlessly and logically from one sequence or scene to another. This is an unobtrusive cut that serves to move the narrative along.
