wastewater effluent has remain unchanged since 1978 with the

BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) of 50 mg/liter?

Do you know that the Philippine population in 1978 was about

20 million as compared to 100 million today?

Do you know that a well maintained and cleaned septic tank can

only reduce the BOD5 by 30% ?

Typical influent BOD5 value is 300mg/l and with 30% maximum

reduction, the effluent BOD5 from septic tanks is 210mg/l;
