Before the summer gets started and there’s the big switch in schedule, get the whole family together
and come up with an agreement about what free time this summer will look like. Let your kids talk
about what’s meaningful to them. Spend quality time with your kids and involve them in fun and frolic
activities.
READING Summer shouldn't mean taking a break from learning, especially reading. Encourage your
child sustain reading skills, practice reading and read for enjoyment. Set a good example by reading
the same book your child is reading and discuss it.
SPEAKING
Conversation enriches understanding. Converse as much as you can with your child & encourage the child to communicate freely with visitors, relatives in English
Encourage the child to be humble and polite to everyone around. Encourage your child to practice yoga for mental peace and good health. For spiritual development encourage the child to start & end the day with prayers.
LIMIT THE USE OF GAGETS
Set reasonable limits for the use of gagets and encourage more outdoor activities.
Be a good role model for your child. Because children are great mimics, limit your own media use.
In fact, you'll be more available for and connected with your children in this way.
Tell your children the value of face-to-face communication.
SHARING IS CARING
Encourage your child to help the poor and the needy. Help them donate clothes and things in use to
those in need.
Encourage the child to be cooperative in group activity GOOD MANNERS & PERSONALITY ENHANCEMENT
Ask the child to assist you in taking care of their younger sibling while you are busy with the daily chores.
Encourage your child to write thank you cards to inculcate the feeling of gratitude towards others. Educate your child for the importance of personal hygine & encourage them to follow regular time
for eating, playing, sleeping, watching T.V & listening stories.
GO GARDENING
Gardening teaches us the science of growing up & imparts human values. It also help kids to maintain their calm & composure.
BE AN INTELLIGENT BROWSER
Internet is an enriching resource of knowledge in today’s world. However, the children have to be motivated to make the right use of it. Hence, guide your child to browse through informative and
instructive websites that are enriching and enlightening for them. Make sure to monitor what your
child watches on the net.

I FUN WITH ENGLISH
Content Coverage : Use the appropriate idiomatic expressions to make a very attractive booklet along with a creative cover page.
The learners will explore and write about 30 idioms given in their notebook. They also have to
paste appropriate pictures expressing the intended meaning.
Frame a sentence using any 10 idioms, supporting them with appropriate pictures.
Values imparted through this Activity we want to enable the learners to develop the skill of expressing their thoughts and ideas in an impressive manner.
Detailed guidelines for the activity:
a. The project file will be collected after the summer break and follow up will be done in the class
after evaluation for transparency.
b. A4 size colored sheets should be used for this purpose.
c. Task at hand requires extensive research and exploration about the idiomatic expressions used in
the English language and frame sentences using the same.
d. Students can make it more attractive by pasting appropriate pictures.

1. Chase your tail :
Meaning - Spending a lot of time and energy doing a lot of things but actually achieving too little.
Sentence - He's been chasing his tail all week collecting data but the report is still not ready.
2.Once in a blue moon
Meaning : Something that happens very rarely / almost never
Sentence : Though, I believe in God very much, but I visit that famous temple
only once in a blue moon.
