Role of DPE/TCE
• Who does the DPE/PPE work for?– For the FAA at our discretion and based upon the
needs of the flying public– Appointed by law PL 103-272 §44702 and FAR §183
• The FAA and its designees are in a symbiotic relationship

Responsibilities
• General– Know the checking/certification requirements for
your aircraft authorizations• AFM, AOM, RFM, FSB Reports
– Get your paperwork in during renewal window– Administer all practical test in accordance with the
appropriate practical tests standards and other requirements
• Check Introduction of all PTS responsible
