What is I.B.?

The International Baccalaureate Program is the most comprehensively rigorous curriculum available in Douglas County.

It is also recognized throughout the world as the principal leader in the area of international study and education.

who are not afraid of being challenged.

What About Extracurricular Involvement?

Most IB students are involved in at least one extracurricular activity.

They are active members in band, chorus, theater, sports, and academic clubs.

We are proud to be part of Douglas County High School!

Why Be In IB?

IB Diploma students have higher SAT scores

IB conducted surveys of students on their acceptance rates to various colleges and universities and their scores on the SAT, ACT and AP exams. IB North America received responses from 6,392 candidates from 131 schools in 29 states.

The mean score of 1309 was significantly higher than the average score of the total population (1026). Diploma candidates’ mean score was even higher than the mean score obtained by Certificate candidates.
