I. The PROPER order of the transaction
(Eph 1:13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
(Eph 1:14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the
praise of his glory.
(Rom 6:17) But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye
have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
(1Th 2:13) For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God
which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in
truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that
believe.
(Eph 2:11) Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the
flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in
the flesh made by hands;
(Eph 2:12) That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the
commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
(Eph 2:13) But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made
nigh by the blood of Christ.

(Eph 1:13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that
holy Spirit of promise,(Eph 1:14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the
praise of his glory.
(Eph 4:30) And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of
redemption. (2Co 1:22) Who hath also sealed us, and given
the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
A. The inward CONSCIOUS proof
(Tit 3:5) Not by works of righteousness which we
have done, but according to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost;
(Gal 5:22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith,
(Gal 5:23) Meekness, temperance: against such
there is no law.
(Rom 7:22) For I delight in the law of God after the
inward man:
(Rom 7:23) But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind,
and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
(Rom 8:16) The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:(Heb 12:6-8) For whom the Lord
loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he
receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he
whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without
chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards,
and not sons.

B.The outward CONSPICUOUS proof
(Act 11:26) And when he had found him, he brought him
unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with
the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians
first in Antioch.
(1Jn 2:6) He that saith he abideth in him ought himself
also so to walk, even as he walked.
The Christian Walk
(2Pe 2:10) But chiefly them that walk after the
flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise
government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of
dignities. (Gal 5:16) This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye
shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Walk in the Spirit and not
the flesh
(Col 4:5) Walk in wisdom toward them that are
without, redeeming the time.
(1Th 4:12) That ye may walk honestly toward
them that are without, and that ye may have lack of
nothing.
Walk in the wisdom and
honesty
(Eph 2:10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which
God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
(Eph 4:1) I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you
that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are
called, (Col 1:10) That ye might walk
worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the
knowledge of God;
Walk in the Good works
(Eph 5:2) And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for
us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling
savour.
(Joh 13:35) By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love
one to another.
Walk in the Love
(3Jn 1:4) I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
(2Jn 1:6) And this is love, that we walk after his
commandments. This is the commandment, That, as
ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk
in it.
Walk in the truth
(1Jn 1:5) This then is the message which we have
heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light,
and in him is no darkness at all.
(1Jn 1:6) If we say that we have fellowship with him,
and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
Walk in the the light
(2Ti 2:19) Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure,
having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from
iniquity.
(Col 3:5) Mortify therefore your members which are upon the
earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate
affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is
idolatry:
