AppleVolumePurchaseProgram(VPP)
IntroductionAs more schools and departments begin to purchase Apple iPads they will be also purchasing
multiple copies of Apps for their devices. The Volume Purchase Program provides for price
discounts based on quantities of 20 or more copies of a single title. This document is a walk
through on how to setup the VPP for your school or department.
What is the Volume Purchase Program (VPP) and why do we want all schools and departments
to participate in it? VPP is a program that provides many benefits for Educational Institutions.
Receiving a 50% discount on most educational and productivity Apps from developers
that choose to be part of VPP, when purchasing 20 or more copies of the App.
Purchase Vouchers instead of Itune cards. Vouchers purchased through a Purchase
Order created by each school or department.
Vouchers are in denominations of $100, $500, $1,000, $5,000.
Tax free vs. buying an App in iTunes.
Syncing free Apps to as many educational devices as you want vs. gift cards and only
syncing to 5 accounts.
School and departments have their own generic iTune email account in Cab.
RolesinVPP:There are Three (3) main roles in VPP.
1. Program Manager who creates the Program Facilitator account.
a. IT will take on this role.
2. There is (1) school designated Program Facilitator (PF). The Program Facilitator can be
the Principal or any Principal Designee.
3. Program Facilitator must use this account. Example of a generic Program Facilitator
