Google Earth combines satellite imagery, maps and the power of Google Search to put the world's geographic information at your fingertips.

PowerPoint 2003 create dynamic and high-impact presentations faster than ever before using graphics and videos from Discovery and embedding the presentation into Google Earth.

Adding Video to PowerPoint

1. Open Discovery

2. Search

3. Download (to a folder)

-either segments or full video

PowerPoint

1. Open PowerPoint2. Choose blank

slide3. NOTE: when

starting a new presentation, I would open and save immediately!

This way, while compiling all of your information, you can save as you go with one click!

PowerPoint1. Click on View

2. Then Toolbar

3. Then Control Box

4. In the control box, click Hammer and Wrench icon

5. Scroll down and select Windows Media Player

1. Click and drag the mouse to make a box

2. Right click mouse and choose Properties

3. Click on the three … next to custom

PowerPoint1. Click on Browse

2. Locate video from your files

3. Choose AUTO START and STRETCH TO FIT.

4. Click on OK.

PowerPoint1. Another way- quick and

easy but WATCH OUT! Although this way is quick- you do not have the capabilities to pause etc.

Google Earth

1. Down load Google Earth: http://earth.google.com/

2. Open Google Earth

Create a Folder

1. Add a Folder 2. Name the Folder

3. Click OK

Fly to Destination

1. Select the FLY TO tab

2. Enter destination

Double check to see if the destination is in your folder.( Field Trip) If not drag and drop!

Add a Placemarker

1. Click the pushpin

2. Name the place

3. Plug in a description

4. Click ok

DOUBLE CHECK: is it in my folder?

Next Stop on our Field Trip:

1. Go to Fly to Tab and enter destination

2. Then drag and drop the destination into the field trip folder

Note: you can rearrange your destinations.

Add Video to your Placemarker

1. Search Discovery streaming

2. Select video

1. Go to Video Segments

2. Right click on the Play Button next to your segment

3. Select “Copy Shortcut”
